Notice of the 2026 CPIAP Annual General Meeting & Call for Nominations

The Canadian Pressure Injury Advisory Panel (CPIAP) is pleased to provide official notice of the 2026 CPIAP Annual General Meeting (AGM). Ahead of the AGM, CPIAP is also looking for clinicians, researchers, policy makers or those with lived experience who are passionate about pressure injury prevention and treatment to join our executive team or board of directors.

Date: Monday, June 22, 2026

Time: 7:00pm–8:30pm EDT / 4:00pm–5:30pm PT

Format: Zoom Webinar

The draft AGM agenda includes updates on membership growth, financials, CPIAP initiatives, elections and appointments of directors, and the annual report presentation.

Call for Nominations – CPIAP Board of Directors


CPIAP is also pleased to announce the official Call for Nominations for the 2026 CPIAP Board of Directors.


CPIAP remains committed to a transparent, equitable, and regionally representative nomination and election process. We encourage qualified members from across Canada to consider serving in leadership roles within the organization.


All newly elected positions will commence immediately following the AGM on June 22, 2026.


Positions Open for Nomination


Executive Officer Position

  • Medical Director


Board Director Positions

  • Provincial/Territorial Director, Yukon

  • Provincial Director, Alberta

  • Provincial/Territorial Director, Northwest Territories & Nunavut

  • Provincial Director, Saskatchewan

  • Provincial Director, Ontario

  • Provincial Director, Newfoundland & Labrador


Term Length

June 22, 2026 – June 2028

(All positions are eligible to stand for one additional two-year term.)


Director Qualifications

To be eligible, Directors must:

  • Be at least eighteen (18) years of age

  • Be a CPIAP Member in good standing

  • Be employed as a healthcare professional with a focus on wound management and/or skin tear prevention and management

  • Not be an employee or representative of a company whose primary business involves the development, manufacture, and sole distribution of products in the field of wound or skin care

  • Not be a contractor of CPIAP

  • Be in good financial standing

  • Not have the status of a bankrupt

  • Not have been found mentally incompetent by a court in Canada or elsewhere


Nomination Process

Nominations must be submitted online through the official CPIAP nomination forms: CPIAP Call for Nominations Page


The following forms must be completed and submitted online:

  • Nomination Form

  • Nomination Acceptance & Consent to Serve Form


Nomination Deadline

All nomination materials must be submitted by June 15, 2026.

Upon successful submission, nominators and nominees will receive an automatic confirmation email.

Election Process

All nominations will be reviewed by the CPIAP Nominating Committee Chair and the Nominating Committee.

  • If a position is unopposed, the candidate will be acclaimed.

  • If a position is contested, an election will take place during the AGM.


Voting will be conducted through secure and anonymous Zoom polling.

Please note that only CPIAP Class A Members (Executive Officers and Regional Directors) are eligible to vote.


All candidates must:

  • Accept their nomination

  • Consent to serve if elected

  • Agree to participate in and accept the outcome of anonymous Zoom polling conducted by CPIAP Class A Members
