Recapping the Canadian Pressure Injury Summit 2025: A Nationwide Call to Transform Culture and Improve Patient Outcomes

On Friday, November 21, 2025, provincial and federal leaders, healthcare administrators, clinicians, researchers, and patient advocates gathered both in-person at Richcraft Hall, Carleton University in Ottawa and virtually across Canada for the second annual Canadian Pressure Injury Summit, hosted by the Canadian Pressure Injury Advisory Panel (CPIAP).

Under this year’s theme — Repositioning Pressure Injuries: Shifting mindsets and transforming culture to support practice excellence — the Summit advanced a national conversation on improving the prevention and management of pressure injuries across the country.

The event aligned with Worldwide Pressure Injury Prevention Day (November 20, 2025), strengthening a nationwide effort to raise awareness, share evidence, and mobilize action to support better outcomes for individuals at risk of pressure injuries.

Strong Engagement Across Canada

This year’s Summit brought together a highly engaged national audience:

  • 96 attendees joined in-person at Carleton University

  • 574 registered to attend virtually

  • 17% from Alberta

  • 15% from British Columbia

  • 13% from Quebec

  • 11% from Manitoba

  • 10% from Newfoundland and Labrador

  • The remaining 16% represented all other provinces and territories
