Luz Ordial

Biography
Luz is a Philippine Registered Nurse with a Graduate Certificate in Nursing Leadership and Management. As part of her clinical experience, she was assigned to different wards during her previous hospital employment. She gained additional knowledge about geriatric patients and stroke patients with hemiplegia or totally paralyzed who needed turning every 2 hours to prevent pressure injury, plus putting an improvised device on the bony prominences had also tested her resourcefulness. Luz is passionate about providing quality care to patients and their families.
With Luz’s dedication to giving her heart to what she does, she is still able to contribute to her community despite her spinal cord injury. As a person with lived experience, she demonstrates a positive attitude towards healing and recovery. She connects with patients who have spinal cord injuries and people with other physical disabilities who have pressure injuries and/or are at risk, and they see her as an inspiration. Luz is currently the Provincial Intake Coordinator of Spinal Cord Injury Ontario, and she views it as one of the silver linings of the tragic episode of her life.
