Biography
Filsan Abdi is a dedicated nurse with over 16 years of experience in the healthcare field. She earned her Bachelor Science of Nursing (BSN) from Ottawa University in Ottawa, Ontario, and later obtained her certification as a Nurse Specialized in Wound, Ostomy and Continence (NSWOC). Filsan started her career in a general medical-surgical unit, where she quickly developed a passion for complex wounds and ostomies. Her commitment to providing high quality care led her to specialize in this field. Over the years, she has worked in various healthcare settings, including hospitals and primary care. Filsan currently works at the Centre intégré de Santé et de Services Sociaux de la Montérégie Ouest at the Suroît Hospital, in Québec. Her role as a nurse specialized in wound, ostomy, and continence care highlights her expertise in the continuum of patient care and throughout the entire organization. She is also a member of several professional organizations, including Infirmières et Infirmiers Stomothérapeute du Québec (AIISQ) and continues to stay updated in the latest advancements in pressure injury prevention and management.
