Biography

Allison Lachaine is the Clinical Nurse Specialist for wound, ostomy, and continence at CarePartners Community Agency in Kitchener, Ontario, and currently serves as the Provincial Program Lead for skin, wound, ostomy, and continence. In this role, she works closely with Ontario Health at Home to ensure best practices are applied across all areas of community care, from clinics to patients’ homes.

With over 13 years of dedicated experience in wound care, pressure injury prevention and treatment have been a central focus of Allison’s career. She began as a wound resource nurse in acute care on an in-patient surgery unit, collaborating with hospital wound care clinicians to improve outcomes. Her passion for excellence in wound care led her to complete the International Interdisciplinary Wound Care Course, followed by leadership roles as program lead for wound care at Humber River Hospital, Joseph Brant Hospital, and two community hospitals.

Transitioning to community care, Allison has led numerous pressure injury prevention initiatives and continues to focus on advancing awareness, education, and clinical excellence in this area. She is also the Professional Development Core Program Lead for Nurses Specialized in Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Canada (NSWOCC), where she contributes to advancing professional growth and best practices nationally.
