"Under Pressure to do Better" Pressure Injury Symposium
The Pressure Injury Symposium coincides with the recognition of World Wide Pressure Injury Day on Thursday, November 17, 2022. This...
Pressure injuries are a growing concern in Canada. In order to address the national issue of pressure injuries in Canada, we are bringing together an interprofessional, nationwide panel. This pan-Canadian panel will be represented by a cross section of clinicians and researchers from different healthcare sectors from acute care to the community.
The mandate of CPIAP is to:
act as a unified voice in Canada
support the adaptation of International Pressure Injury Guidelines for Canada,
raise public awareness about pressure injury prevention and management,
advocate for practice change locally, provincially, and federally through policy change in order to improve patient care, and
enhance the scientific evidence that will support stronger evidence-based practice.
The Pressure Injury Symposium coincides with the recognition of World Wide Pressure Injury Day on Thursday, November 17, 2022. This virtual event will examine the risks and causes along with the multi-disciplinary comprehensive management of pressure injuries by dietitians, nurses, surgeons, physicians and physiatrists to develop strategies, overcome barriers and improve patient outcomes. Learn more about this one-day virtual learning event with co-chairs Dr Alan Rogers and Stephanie Chadwick.
