Welcome to CPIAP!

The Pan-Canadian Interprofessional Approach to Address the Prevention and Management of Pressure Injuries

Pressure injuries are a growing concern in Canada. In order to address the national issue of pressure injuries in Canada, we are bringing together an interprofessional, nationwide panel. This pan-Canadian panel will be represented by a cross section of clinicians and researchers from different healthcare sectors from acute care to the community.

The mandate of CPIAP is to:

  • act as a unified voice in Canada

  • support the adaptation of International Pressure Injury Guidelines for Canada,

  • raise public awareness about  pressure injury prevention and management,

  • advocate for practice change locally, provincially, and federally through policy change in order to improve patient care, and

  • enhance the scientific evidence that will support stronger evidence-based practice.
