Biography

Kaylem Boileau was the President of the Canadian Pressure Injury Advisory Panel from 2023-2025. She is a Registered Dietitian with a Master of Health Sciences who has completed the International Interprofessional Wound Care Course (IIWCC-CAN).
Kaylem currently practices as the Interprofessional Practice Lead at Toronto Grace Health Centre, where she leads the interprofessional wound care team, serving patients with chronic critical illness, in complex continuing care, rehabilitation and palliative care. In her current role, Kaylem supports interprofessional pressure injury prevention and care across the organization by delivering staff education on pressure injury prevention, wound assessment, and management.

Kaylem has a passion for continuing education and knowledge sharing. In addition to supporting credentialing dietitians and students, she has taught and presented on nutrition for pressure injury prevention and healing for IIWCC, Project ECHO Skin and Wound, and at several conferences. She has also spoken and been on panel discussions on pressure injury prevention and treatment. Recently, Kaylem has had the opportunity to contribute to textbooks on the topics of nutrition for pressure injuries and be an expert panel member for the NPIAP, EPUAP, PPPIA. International Pressure Ulcer/Injury Guideline: Prevention and Treatment of Pressure Ulcers/Injuries: Clinical Practice Guideline (4th Ed.) and Registered Nurses’ Association of Ontario 2024 Best Practice Guidelines for Pressure injury management: Risk assessment, prevention and treatment, Fourth Edition.
