Britney Butt

Britney Ann Butt, MClSc-WH, BScN, RN, NSWOC, WOCC(C), has worked as a clinical nurse specialist at North York General Hospital since 2015. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2012 from the University of Ottawa, her Master of Clinical Science in Wound Healing in 2017 from the University of Western Ontario, and an Enterostomal Therapy Nursing Certificate in 2014 from the Canadian Association of Enterostomal therapy, now referred to as the Wound, Ostomy and Continence Institute. During her tenure with the Wound, Ostomy and Continence Institute as the Program Development Lead, Britney was responsible for the development of educational programs including the Wound Debridement Program Wound Care – Practice Enrichment Series for paramedics, Skin Wellness Associated Program (SWAN).
In her position at North York General Hospital as Clinical Nurse Specialist she leads her hospital’s pressure injury prevention and management committee and through the implementation of the current NPIAP guidelines, multidisciplinary team collaboration and about-of-the-box ideas has reduced the incidence and severity of hospital acquired pressure injuries throughout her organization.
Britney intends to bring that philosophy of collaboration and innovation to the Canadian pressure injury advisory panel and help provide a comprehensive yet simplistic and standardized approach to pressure injury prevention across Canada.
